Dr. Allende is a Full Professor at the Universidad de Chile. He is a Biology major from the P. Universidad Católica de Chile, has a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (1994) and postdoctoral studies at MIT (1994-1998). He has worked on zebrafish developmental genetics and is interested in neural regeneration and innate immunity. At the CGR, he is working on the genomics of South American Cyprinidontiform fish. In 2015 he became a Corresponding Member of the Chilean Academy of Sciences.
